Building Software Foundations for Software-Defined Vehicles
T&S configured and integrated AUTOSAR basic software for a High Computing Platform across vehicle and ECU variants, supporting the shift to software-defined vehicles.
A major European automotive manufacturer partnered with T&S to support the development and integration of software for a new High Computing Platform (HCP) for next-generation vehicles. The project focused on configuring and integrating AUTOSAR basic software across multiple vehicle and hardware variants within an increasingly centralised vehicle architecture. As platforms evolve toward software-defined vehicles, the client needed a scalable, reliable software foundation supporting growing connectivity, diagnostics and integration requirements.
Client context
The client was developing and maintaining a common software baseline for several vehicle configurations and ECU variants on the new High Computing Platform, integrating multiple AUTOSAR stacks and basic software components while ensuring compatibility across hardware environments as the vehicle architecture became increasingly centralised.
Business challenges
- Develop and maintain a common software baseline across multiple vehicle configurations and ECU variants
- Integrate multiple AUTOSAR stacks and basic software components with compatibility across hardware environments
- Coordinate OEM teams, AUTOSAR suppliers, Tier 1 partners and integration stakeholders
- Maintain consistency between communication stacks, diagnostics, safety mechanisms and configurations through rigorous integration governance
- Support advanced communication protocols and diagnostics while maintaining high reliability for future vehicle programs
The T&S solution
T&S supported the client in configuring and integrating AUTOSAR basic software for the High Computing Platform. The teams contributed to CAN and Ethernet communication integration, diagnostic and OBD functionalities, and software-stack configuration across multiple vehicle variants, and implemented safety mechanisms directly at the basic-software level to reinforce robustness and platform reliability. Combining embedded software expertise with strong multi-stakeholder coordination, T&S also supported project management and reporting to maintain visibility across milestones, delivery progress and integration dependencies, streamlining collaboration between OEM, suppliers and engineering teams.
